Rogers PCB is a circuit board made by Rogers company. Rogers is a company that makes laminates used to make circuit boards. Most circuit boards are made of a material called FR4 (flame retardant grade 4), which is a glass fiber / epoxy composite with copper foil laminated on one or both sides.
Rogers will sell you FR-4 laminates (FR-4 core and copper laminate), which are known for their better high-frequency characteristics (such as PTFE (Teflon)). They are more expensive than glass fibers, but have less loss at high frequencies. This makes them very suitable for RF boards.
Application of rogers pcb:
Rogers pcb is mainly used in defense, military, wireless, telecommunications and automotive industries. Some application examples of PCB made of Rogers material are:
- Cellular base station antenna
- power amplifier
- Automotive radar and sensors
- Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags
- Live satellite
Rogers pcb benefit:
- Compatible with FR-4 manufacturing process
- Well controlled dielectric constant (DK)
- Higher than average thermal conductivity (. 6 -. 8)
- High heat resistance – lead free welding compatibility
- Low z-axis CTE ensures reliable through hole quality
- Optimize cost and RF / microwave performance
- A wide range of DKs are available (2.55-6.15)
- UL 94 V-0 flame retardant version available
